Job Title: Mortgage Operations Supervisor

Location: Main Branch (3675 S 900 E, Millcreek, UT 84106)

Status: Full-Time (40 hours a week, some Saturdays required)

Reports to: VP Consumer and Mortgage Lending

 

Position Purpose

Responsible for supporting the mortgage department by overseeing daily processing activities and assisting staff to ensure loans are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with credit union policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. This role works hands-on with loan files, provides guidance to team members, and helps maintain a smooth, member-focused mortgage process.

 

Essential Duties, Skills & Abilities

  • Exhibit outstanding member services skills by applying Granite Credit Union Service Standards and Core Values.
  • Supervise daily mortgage operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality service for members.
  • Provide guidance and support to mortgage operations staff, assisting with questions, escalations, and training on procedures.
  • Process mortgage loans in accordance with credit union and investor standards by reviewing incoming documents for accuracy and completeness, updating relevant systems as needed, and verifying borrower data while computing ratios and resolving discrepancies with borrowers and loan originators.
  • Order and review credit reports, appraisals, surveys, and title commitments as needed for loan closings.
  • Prepare and send required loan documentation, including commitment letters and adverse action notices.
  • Track and manage timelines with lenders, vendors, and borrowers to facilitate smooth loan processing and closings.
  • Address escalations, conduct second-level reviews, and interact with members to resolve questions and follow up on required documentation.
  • Administer the Loan Origination System and other mortgage systems, while overseeing the reporting needs of the mortgage department, including monthly internal reports, compliance reporting, and MERS reporting.
  • Stay informed about loan programs, documentation requirements, and agency and investor guidelines, and provide guidance to staff on processing standards and compliance updates.
  • Recommend workflow improvements to enhance member experience and operational productivity.
  • Handle reconveyance, mortgage payoff, and subordination requests.
  • Promote a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Basic computer operating skills such as email, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

 

Experience

Two to Five years of similar or related experience.

Ability to organize and analyze financial information.

Proficiency in mortgage software and tools, including spreadsheet and word processing.

 

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
