Description

This position performs a variety of duties involving clerical and technical work that includes processing and maintaining medical records, analyzing and compiling medical records documents. The position will serve as a link between ONHS medical staff and outside medical professionals contributing to patient care services.

Qualifications


 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

General Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • 1-2 years experience in health information management
  • Requires knowledge of HIPPA and Privacy Act of 1974
  • Familiarity with Resource Patient Management System (RPMS)
  • Familiarity with Epic Systems
  • Knowledge of electronic health records systems
  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology used in determining nature of a patient request
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance
  • Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
  • Requires a high level of problem solving skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills
  • Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
  • Must have Basic Life Support certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check to include fingerprinting
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening
  • Must have a clean driving record – may be require to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
