Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse – will work closely with Psychiatrist as well as the Chief Medical Officer. The Licensed Practical Nurse will also coordinate activities within the Wah-Zha-Zhe Health Center to benefit the patient, payer and provider as the patient moves across the continuum of care. The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist patients in achieving optimal levels of wellness, self-management, and functioning capability. All duties will be performed under the guidance of the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.

- Must have completed an accredited LPN program and have obtained a current, unrestricted Nursing License from the State of Oklahoma.
- Must have no less than Five (5) years of experience in the Clinic setting, or Three (3) years of experience in the Hospital setting, preferably Critical Care.
- Requires at least Three (3) years of experience in assisting Physician, Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurses in patient procedures.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing.
General Qualifications
- Must have the knowledge and skill sufficient to recognize, respond and initiate, emergency measures when indicated, such as cardiopulmonary arrest response, recognizing the signs and symptoms of MI and CVA and emergent interventions, perform catheterizations, change surgical dressings, administer antibiotics, immunizations and corticosteroids.
- Experience in administering medication both orally and by intra-muscular injections; report and record vital signs; prepare patient for special laboratory tests; setup and manage specialized equipment.
- Knowledge of human body structure, function, illnesses and/or disease entities, and skill sufficient to communicate with nurses, patients, family members and clinic staff.
- Experience in observation, recording, and reporting patient information accurately and efficiently.
- BLS Required, ACLS Preferred.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of growth and development, providing age-appropriate care to patients served.
- Experience in performing Pre and Post-operative patient care.
- Requires a self-motivated, high energy, individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics, always maintaining confidentiality, as well as problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Requires considerable walking, recurring bending, lifting, kneeling, pushing and pulling, often in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must take at least 6 continuing education units per year.
- Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including traveling to training conferences.
- Must maintain a professional attitude
- Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles.
