The Senior Product Manager, Crop Protection Products is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing the product management strategy in alignment with the Company’s go-to-market strategy. This role serves as a critical connection between suppliers, and internal sales teams to ensure that product offerings are competitive, profitable, and aligned with the overall business strategy. The role will manage product life cycles, marketplace strategies, vendor relationships, and provide technical and market expertise to drive sales growth. This role may provide leadership to other product managers within the department – whether directly or indirectly.
Key Responsibilities
· Product Strategy & Management
o Develop and implement crop protection product strategies to consistently meet customer needs while delivering profitable market share growth.
o Manage product life cycles, from new product introductions to phase-out decisions.
o Analyze market trends, competitive pricing, and grower needs to inform product positioning.
· Supplier & Vendor Relations
o Maintain strong relationships with key manufacturer partners and negotiate supply agreements, pricing, and programs.
o Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adequate product availability, favorable terms, and innovative offerings.
· Pricing & Program Development
o Establish marketplace pricing strategies in alignment with the Company’s go-to-market strategy while maintaining competitiveness and profitability.
o Support the development and execution of manufacturers and internal rebate and incentive programs.
· Sales Support & Training
o Provide product knowledge, positioning, and program support to retail sales teams.
o Partner with agronomy and technical service teams to ensure best-in-class product support for growers.
· Market Analysis & Forecasting
o Monitor and forecast demand, ensuring accurate product procurement and inventory planning.
o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate product performance and profitability.
o Identify growth opportunities and recommend new product lines or market approaches.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· 5+ years of experience in crop protection, product management, procurement, or agronomy.
· Strong knowledge of crop protection chemistry, distribution, retail agronomy, and agricultural market trends.
· Proven ability to negotiate, manage supplier relationships, and develop pricing strategies.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems a plus.
