The HR Coordinator, reporting to the Manager of People Operations, provides support for day-to-day HR operations and ensures a seamless employee experience across the organization. This role manages key administrative processes, supports HR programs and policies, and partners closely with employees and managers throughout the employee life cycle. The HR Coordinator also plays an important role in driving accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement within People Operations.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Broadview Heights, Ohio or Oakbrook, Illinois office 3 days a week (T, W, and TH).
Responsibilities
- Manage the HR mailbox, ensuring timely, accurate responses and proper routing of inquiries.
- Maintain employee data in the HCM system, including hires, terminations, transfers, and other employment actions.
- Manage onboarding activities for new hires including facilitation of new hire orientation, ensuring compliance and positive employee integration.
- Coordinate unemployment claims and process employment verifications.
- Oversee the Trustworthiness & Reliability (T&R) background check process, in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements.
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly HR reports (e.g., hiring activity, termination reasons, headcount tracking).
- Support enterprise-wide HR initiatives and projects (e.g. performance reviews, merit and bonus processes, and engagement surveys).
- Partner with the HR team to streamline processes and drive efficiencies.
- Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including filing, mail management, and ad hoc reporting.
- Support SOX audit requirements through accurate documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; PHR certification a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HCM systems strongly preferred.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly present information clearly and effectively.
