TMB, Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Congressional/Public Affairs Analyst to support the Program Executive Office Ships (PEO Ships). 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Flag Level communication products to include speeches, talking points, briefs, RFI's, articles, and strategic communication plans to the Strategic Operations Director and Leadership for both new construction and in-service surface fleet.
  • Proactively and re-actively respond short and long-term tasking from Flag Leadership and the Strategic Operations Director, coordinating as necessary with stakeholders, to provide quality on time communication products to include speeches, website updates, briefs, metrics, SOP's, point papers, articles, communication plans, and analysis.
  • A professional demeanor at all times is necessary when interacting with senior Navy and Congressional leadership.
  • This position requires diligence in running answers to ground and moving projects forward.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a plus, ability to build strong working relationships with programs, leadership support staff, and principals.
  • Ability to track and prioritize multiple ongoing projects with hard deadlines.
  • Execute assigned programmatic or organizational efforts on behalf of customer in accordance with policy and direction.
  • Independently perform assigned tasks such as establishing project objectives, developing plans, evaluating alternatives, measuring progress, resolving issues, and making recommendations.
  • Prepare high quality briefings, reports, and other documentation in support of customer programs.
  • Must be capable of working in a small team to solve problems to produce required outcomes of overall effort.
  • Track, analyze, and report progress, status, and data associated with customer programs and team actions using metrics and info-graphics.
  • Support communication strategies/initiatives to assess data and metrics to make recommendations on gathering, filing, controlling, and maintaining data for rapid use.
  • Attend and debrief conferences, symposiums, etc.
  • Prepare reports, as requested, gathering and summarizing data.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with team members on projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Public Policy.
  • Congressional Hill experience.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Ability to be able to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
  • Ability to be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in a backpack or messenger bag in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
