               Intern – Investment and Origination Team (6 months)



Objective of the BlueOrchard’s internship program is to create a pool of professionals who are passionate about impact investment and might be interested in exploring further opportunities with BlueOrchard as they may arise. As part of the Investment Team, you will have exposure to a wide variety of investment related tasks and projects and you will gain experience in a multi-cultural business environment.


Key tasks

  • Support in monitoring and analyzing microfinance institutions (MFI), Financial Institutions (FI), and non-financial institutions from a financial and social impact perspective.
  • Conduct desk research regarding market research by country, regulatory and competitive environment of Latin American investees as well as potential new markets;
  • Assist with market research for sourcing loan opportunities; including financial assessment based on available financial statements and credit rating reports.
  • Support marketing and outreach initiatives aimed at acquiring new clients;
  • Help prepare marketing material;
  • Support the Latin American private debt investment team in portfolio analysis and investors reporting;
  • Assist Investment Officers in communication with the financial institutions (FIs), BlueOrchard Finance’s Offices worldwide and third parties;
  • Organize and maintain client electronic and physical files and update all relevant documentation.


Required skills and experience

  • To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must be graduates who completed their degree within the past two years and have not worked directly as an employee. Moreover, students are also eligible only when studying the final semester of their degree program.
  • Previous internship experience is mandatory.
  • Solid academic record in finance, business administration, market research, or related fields, supported by practical experience such as internships or similar roles.
  • Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis and financial analysis for Financial Institutions (including key ratios) is required.
  • Ability in marketing, communication, or promotional campaigns, combined with a structured, analytical approach and the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; VBA skills are an advantage.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English (English speaking skills will be assessed).
