Role Overview
We're seeking a results driven Financial Controller ready to take full ownership of the North America accounting function, while partnering with the Senior Commercial Advisor on key financial decisions.
Youwill oversee all aspects of financial management, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance, while providing strategic financial insights to support the company’s growth and operational goals.
The roleworks closely with project managers to ensure robust project-level financial discipline, strong working capital management, and alignment between commercial decisions and overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information to North America Leadership and the Group finance function, including the month-end management accounts
- Further develop financial dashboards and metrics that proactively give North America leadership clear visibility into business performance.
- Lead the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Project-Level Financial Oversight
- Take a lead role in monitoring and enhancing project profitability and working capital
- Work closely with project managers to optimize financial performance and escalate identified risks to the Senior Commercial Advisor.
- Support ad-hoc project-related financial queries from project managers.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, state/provincial filings, and tax regulations
- Monitor internal controls and oversea audit processes, both internal and external.
- Work with the global Business Delivery Group to improve the Finance service levels to the North American business, seeking process and system improvements
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team of 4.
- Continue to foster the culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the finance function.
- Work with the global Business Delivery Group to improve Finance’s ability to service the North American business, seeking process and system improvements and efficiencies.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent designation
- Experience:
- 7+ years in progressive finance roles, with at least 3 years in a team management position.
- Experience working across the US and Canada strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Power BI would be an asset.
- Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to prioritize.
- Proven ability to engage with non-financial stakeholders.
