Position Overview
Fallbrook Union High School District is seeking a knowledgeable and student-centered College and Career Instructor to support high school students in navigating their post-secondary pathways. This role is ideal for someone passionate about educational access, career readiness, and empowering youth to make informed decisions about their futures. The instructor will guide students through college applications, financial aid processes, career exploration, and more—all within the dynamic Saturday Academy environment.
Required Documents
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Career Development, or related field
Experience supporting students with college and career planning
Familiarity with FAFSA, DACA, and California college systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Availability to work Saturdays
Preferred:
Experience working with first-generation college students or underserved youth
Knowledge of local and regional post-secondary institutions and career pathways
Bilingual proficiency
CPR/First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support with college applications, including UC, CSU, private, and junior college systems
Assist students with FAFSA completion and financial aid literacy, including DACA-related guidance
Facilitate junior college enrollment and registration processes
Lead workshops and activities focused on college and career research, job aptitude assessments, and goal setting
Coordinate field trips to colleges and vocational programs to expose students to diverse post-secondary options
Schedule and host guest speakers from colleges, industries, and community organizations
Guide students in building resumes, preparing for interviews, and exploring scholarship opportunities
Maintain accurate records of student participation and progress
Collaborate with the Saturday Academy Coordinator to align programming with district goals
Collaborate with counselors as well as college and career staff at FUHSD to ensure alignment with initiatives and facilitate smooth communication and support for students across all staff.
Participate in planning meetings and professional development related to college and career readiness
Salary Info
including one additional hour of paid preparation time for each Saturday Academy session, and additional hours of approved paid time to collaborate with pertinent personnel.
