Since 1927, Collier Youth Services has been devoted to the mission of serving at-risk and PROMISING children, youth, and families. Our programs have developed over the years in response to the changing needs of the young people and families we serve. Today, Collier Youth Services is a non-profit that addresses the therapeutic and social issues of our youngsters through educational, residential, and recreational programs of the highest quality. Responsible for assisting with the communication strategy within the Collier Youth Services Agency.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop key messaging that supports the mission and goals of Collier Youth Services.

  • Development and maintain brand identity with the Director: Ensure consistency in all visual communications, including logos, color palettes, typography, and imagery, across various platforms and materials.

  • Design and produce marketing materials: Create brochures, flyers, newsletters, annual reports, presentations, and other print collateral to support fundraising, program promotion, and general outreach efforts.

  • Oversee printing and production: Coordinate with external vendors for the printing and production of materials, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

  • Manage digital assets: Maintain an organized archive of photos, videos, and graphic design files.

  • Support event promotion: Create event-specific graphics, such as invitations, posters, and signage, to attract attendees and reinforce the organization's brand presence.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies: Craft comprehensive communication plans aligned with the organization's mission and goals with the Director.

  • Content Creation and Storytelling: Creating compelling content for various channels, such as websites, social media, newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and press releases.

  • Media Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, handling media inquiries, writing press releases and pitching stories to generate positive media coverage.

  • Digital Communications Management: Oversee Social Media, managing the organization's digital platforms, including the website, social media accounts, email marketing, and online fundraising campaigns. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for implementation and plan.

  • Event Support: Support the planning, coordinating, and promoting of events, meetings, and conferences to engage audiences and raise awareness. Collaborate with the Development & Event Coordinator, as well as the Director.

  • Brand Management: Ensuring all communications are on-brand and consistent in tone and messaging.

  • Internal Communications: Establishing and maintaining effective internal communication processes to keep staff and volunteers informed and engaged, with Human Resources.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including board, donors, volunteers, community leaders, schools, and partners.

  • Measurement and Evaluation: Tracking and reporting on the success of communication efforts using metrics like website traffic, social media engagement, and email open/click-through rates. 

  • Video Content: Increase video content creation and planning.

  • School Communications: Work closely with the school director to develop and disseminate communications and surveys to appropriate audiences (parents, teachers, social workers, districts, etc);  analyze the data to improve outcomes, in coordination with Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

  • Community partnership: Represent the organization at business, government, and community events. Look for opportunities to collaborate with others

  • Department Management: Assist with strategic office direction and management when requested. Supervise Marketing & Communications coordinator

  • Development Collaboration: Assist the Development Department when requested; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of marketing, public relations and communication experience required. Working at a non-profit is a plus but not required.

  • Media relations experience is required, current relationships with media outlets/reporters is a plus.

  • Experience in working with popular social media platforms 

  • Experience with creating and marketing websites

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace

  • Experience with digital photography, graphic design and video production

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

  • Provide evidence of licenses and certifications

  • Satisfactorily pass Criminal History, Fingerprinting, TB screen, Physical, CARI and/or Sexual Misconduct & Child Abuse Disclosure
