The Role You Play

As a Substance Use Treatment Registered Nurse at Pawnee Mental Health, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals reclaim their lives from addiction. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing compassionate care and medical support to clients in recovery. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a supportive environment, values teamwork, and wants to make a real difference in the community every day.


The Day-to-Day:

  • Provide onsite nursing care within your license to support medical providers and client wellness.
  • Induce and monitor patients on buprenorphine, offering stabilization and education on harm reduction, Narcan use, safe storage, and agency programs.
  • Manage medication tasks: order/administer weekly injections, take vitals during visits, organize medication samples, and respond to medication-related calls and emails with professionalism.
  • Assist clients with medication access by completing patient assistance applications through partner programs.
  • Support the care team and clients with other nursing-related duties as needed.

Requirements

Required

  1. Current, unencumbered Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) certification
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language
  3. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and the specific needs of substance use patients
  4. At least 2 years' nursing experience
  5. Basic personal computing skills
  • Preferred
    1. BSN strongly preferred
    2. Prior experience with MAT/Medication Assisted Treatment
    3. Bi-lingual capabilities
    4. Experience with Microsoft Office software
