JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Engineer on the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Ice & Rain Protection Systems (IPS) team will oversee and support the design and certification activity of aircraft components & systems through the creation of requirements and specifications, execution of certification and development tests, and resolution of issues on aircraft and test articles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop component/system descriptions, requirements, and specifications.
- Coordinate and collaborate within the ECS/IPS team, and across Engineering functional areas, to support design and certification activity – this includes, but is not limited to:
- Creation and review of certification plans and reports
- Creation and review of test plans and reports
- Coordination and execution of required testing, both flight and ground
- Coordination with suppliers on the design and qualification of system components
- Creation and review of supporting analyses, both mechanical and thermal
- Defining ice shapes required for various flight test aircraft and test programs
- Create and support Development Assurance and System Safety documents.
- Coordinate across multiple departments, including Experimental, Flight Test, Project Design, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet company, department, and program objectives.
- Support resolution of issues on Production line and Customer aircraft, as well as flight test aircraft and certification/development test articles.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree required in:
o Aerospace Engineering
o Mechanical Engineering
o Other related field
· Less than 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once, while maintaining the ability to adapt to fluid program demands and objectives.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with CFD and/or thermal analysis software is a plus, as is familiarity with CATIA & ENOVIA PLM applications.
- Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations is a plus.
