The primary function of this position is leading, managing, and coordinating a variety of complex and technically challenging capital improvement projects from inception and design through the construction and warranty phases, including assisting in the development of CIP project requests, developing project scopes and budgets, planning, and scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications

Committed to our safety philosophy, this individual proactively manages time and resources to complete work efficiently while striving to surpass objectives and deliver outcomes beyond expectations.
 
In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values, interested candidates must possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Project/Construction Management. 
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible project management of vertical/building, parks, and transportation projects.
  • Experience in Municipal Infrastructure Development is highly preferred.

Licensing/Certifications:
  • A valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • A Professional Architect or Engineer License is preferred.

Knowledge of:  
  • Project management principles and practices, to include knowledge of procurement per state statutes; scheduling, cost estimating, and risk management.
  • Arizona Revised Statutes and various delivery methods such as: JOC, CM@R, DBB, and DB.
  • Land acquisition and contract administration.
  • Design or construction knowledge of standard municipal buildings, parks, and/or transportation projects.
  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of project management software or database management. 

Skill in:  
  • Interpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Performing advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Design analysis and technical review.
  • Managing engineering projects.
  • Administering contracts.
  • Administering project budgets.
  • Maintaining project schedules.
  • Providing customer service.
  • Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal relations, including the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and the public to exchange information and follow work directions.
