REQUIRED

  1. *Valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
  2.  *High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English; 
  3. * Three (3) year of experience working with computer systems or PEIMS data. Proficient in Microsoft Office               (especially Excel) and database systems.

 

PREFERRED

* Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in Computer Information Systems, Business, or related field.  

   Experience with student information systems and state data reporting preferred

 

 

SUMMARY:     The Computer Operator provides technical and administrative support for the efficient operation of PEIMS data reporting and district computer systems. The role includes maintaining system procedures, supporting data accuracy, managing computer operations, and assisting in the facilitation of local and state reporting requirements. The employee ensures all systems operate in accordance with Board policy and state regulatory standards.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

 Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of PEIMS data in compliance with TEA requirements.
Maintain operational performance of district data systems including mainframe, mid-range, and network applications related to PEIMS and student information. Schedule and monitor system maintenance and coordinate emergency support services.Analyze data for enrollment, attendance, special populations, and other critical state indicators. Generate reports and distribute edit lists and documentation to campuses and administrative staff. Resolve student and staff data discrepancies, including TSDS Unique ID conflicts. Supervise and assist operations or technical support personnel as directed.Support and train campus and department users on PEIMS procedures, attendance coding, and software use. Research and resolve software, programming, or SIS application issues related to data reporting. Monitor and ensure accuracy of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Special Program contact hour calculations. Maintain secure documentation and filing of records required by TEA and district policies. Support planning and execution of local/state audits. Prepare correspondence, schedules, forms, memos, and reports as needed. Schedule appointments, meetings, and events for PEIMS or technical leadership. Manage communications with vendors, representatives, and other service providers. Maintain confidentiality and follow district standards of ethical behavior. Perform other duties as assigned by the MIS Supervisor, PEIMS Coordinator, or department administrator.
