The Resource Specialist strengthens organizational knowledge by developing, enhancing, and maintaining resources that support staff in their daily work. This role creates clear procedures, quick reference guides, and forms, while also recommending process and documentation improvements. Will also administer the employee knowledge base, ensuring resources are accurate, accessible, and continuously updated. Will manage ongoing knowledge updates to support knowledge retention and organizational learning. This role requires working both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines. It also involves leveraging AI and other tools to boost efficiency, simplify complex information, and empower employees to deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
This position is open to a remote work schedule.
Pay Range: 27.15/hr. - 39.31/hr.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Procedures – Create, update, and maintain credit union procedures to ensure clarity, accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Resources – Create, update, and maintain quick reference guides, job aids, FAQs, forms, and DocuSign templates that simplify complex concepts and support staff.
- Knowledge Management – Administer Our Workplace Library (OWL), Credit Union 1’s internal knowledge support platform, keeping procedures and resources current.
- Communications – Prepare and distribute internal communications to keep staff informed of updates.
- Collaboration & Projects – Partner with the Internal Operations Manager and cross-functional teams to prioritize requests, support strategic projects, and improve processes.
- Policy & Procedure Improvements – Recommend updates to policies and procedures based on findings during procedure development, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- OWL Hotline Support – Serve as a backup for the OWL Hotline, assisting with the internal call queue and helping direct employees to the appropriate resources or subject matter experts.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude with members and employees, reflecting Credit Union 1’s mission and core values to support high-quality member service.
- Adhere to the credit union’s dress code policy and ensure compliance within the department.
- Complete all assigned duties in accordance with departmental standards.
- Support the department’s participation in the Record Retention program, including creation, identification, storage, use, and destruction of records per policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Business Administration, Instructional Design, Education, or related field preferred.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in resource development, technical writing, or instructional design; financial services experience a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- High attention to detail with strong editing and quality review skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other resource development tools; familiarity with knowledge management principles, systems, or AI tools a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design, or content accessibility best practices preferred.
- Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
Please note: Credit Union 1 does not provide relocation assistance. If selected for an on-site position, candidates will be responsible for relocating to Alaska prior to the agreed upon start date at their own expense.
