Our Ideal Senior Proposal Manager is:
An experienced proposal professional with the ability to be thoughtful in approach and highly accountable while managing multiple responses simultaneously. You have excellent time-management skills and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

How will you make an impact?

As a Senior Proposal Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for the development of RFP responses that support our purpose, enabling us to serve even more children, educators, families, and communities. This position will support our CharacterStrong division (www.characterstrong.com).

Responsibilities:

Manage the complete RFP response process from kickoff to submission for multiple RFx at a time. This includes:

  • End-to-End Proposal Development & Execution – Collobrate with salese win strategies and themes, capture planning, compliance matrixes, and ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Stakeholder & Team Leadership - Lead cross-functional and virtual teams (e.g., Sales, BD, Technical, Legal, Pricing). Facilitate kick-offs, reviews, standups, and lessons-learned sessions
  • Quality Assurance & Governance - Conduct self and peer reviews, maintain version control, and guide all elements from outlines to final formatting and brand alignment
  • Metrics & Continuous Process Improvement - Report on metrics like win rate and proposal quality. Drive improvements across tools, templates, and workflows
  • Technology & Knowledge Management - Optimize and maintain proposal content libraries. Leverage and implement proposal automation tools, AI, or RFP platforms (e.g., Loopio, CRM/SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex, high-stakes RFPs—federal, state, local, or education technology preferred.
  • Proven strategic skills in win theme development, capture strategy, and bid structuring.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Proficient in RFP and Proposal Management platforms (e.g., Loopio), CRM (HubSpot), and content management platforms.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills; experience leading virtual or cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with firm deadlines.
  • APMP Foundational certification preferred.
