Description
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting with warehouse operations, receiving and unloading deliveries, and the sorting, storage, packing, and distribution of food. Also responsible for general facilities maintenance and cleaning.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 5:00am-1:00pm, some Saturdays as needed
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for receiving and unloading daily deliveries and donations.
- When needed, pick up and deliver products to the Food Bank or to other designated agencies, vendors, or donors in a safe and productive manner.
- Drive Stand-up forklift, Sit-down forklift, Rider pallet jack, and Manual electric pallet jack in a safe manner in moving products throughout the warehouse area and assisting in loading trucks.
- Accurately follow all receiving and inventory control procedures.
- Utilize inventory system (HELM) to track and maintain accurate data of goods and services coming in and out of the warehouse.
- Unload, sort, store, pack and distribute food.
- Support We Help pantry, Deuces drive-thru, and other programs by keeping them stocked with necessary food and hygiene items.
- Maintain paperwork, logs, and receipts in an accurate manner.
- Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Follow and maintain all health and sanitation codes.
- Perform routine care and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Assist with trash pickup and removal.
- Keep grounds functional, presentable, and clean.
- Able to drive a Cargo Van, 16 ft Refrigerated truck, and CDL 26ft Refrigerated truck.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.
- Assist in daily setting up of warehouse.
- Supports volunteer activities as necessary and assigned.
- Assist with food drives or special events, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
- Forklift and pallet jack knowledge, certification preferred.
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- CDL Class A or B is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 60 pounds or more on occasions; ability and stamina to repeatedly lift 25 to 45 pounds on daily basis.
- Ability to operate Stand-up forklift, Sit-down forklift, Rider pallet jack, and Manual electric pallet jack.
- Proficient driving Cargo Van, 16 ft Refrigerated truck, and CDL 26ft Refrigerated truck (if candidate holds a CDL license)
