A bit about the role:
As the sole Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the design, deployment, and optimization of our AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient systems while establishing best practices for automation, monitoring, security, and governance. This role offers high visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to shape the company’s DevOps strategy from the ground up.
A bit about the work:
Lead the practice of container-based microservices and serverless applications (ECS, EC2, Lambda) using Terraform and other automation tools.
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker) to automate application, platform, and infrastructure deployments.
Monitor systems, implement alerts, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with AWS best practices.
Enforce cloud governance policies, including IAM, resource tagging, and cost management.
Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure.
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements, recommend tools, and deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
Lead projects of moderate complexity and provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentorship across the company.
A bit about you:
BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5+ years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
Strong experience setting up, maintaining, and automating CI/CD systems
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
Knowledgeable managing and customizing monitoring tools like Datadog and Sumo Logic, for creating dashboards, alerts, and metrics displays.
Fluency with source control (GitHub, GitLab, Git) and build systems (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Docker).
Proficient with AWS: Redis, OpenSearch, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB, EC2, ECS.
Adept at scripting Python, Bash, Perl and automating infrastructure.
Proven ability to take ownership, lead projects, and influence engineering teams.
Location:
We have offices located in Sunnyvale, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Brooklyn, NY. While we offer fully remote and hybrid employment opportunities, our team strongly desires candidates to be available to work in the Bay Area or within the Pacific Time Zone (PST).
Pay Equity:
In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws, the base salary range for this role is between $150,000-200,000. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
