We are looking for a motivated Construction Intern to join our team in Paducah, KY. You will work under the direct supervision of professional engineers and project managers, contributing to real-world projects that have a meaningful impact on our communities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures by spending time on project sites and in an office setting supporting the construction administration roles 

  • Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to support project proposal efforts, including procurement and project controls, interpreting construction drawings, and reviewing construction submittals

  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs

  • Visit construction sites for inspection duties, monitoring contractor activity, completing Daily Work Reports and providing materials testing

  •  Perform other duties as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Construction Management from an accredited college or university.

  • Interest in transportation engineering, infrastructure design and construction management.

  • Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads or other drafting/drawing/design software is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.

  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
