The Atlanta History Center is seeking a skilled and energetic professional to join our part-time bartending team. This role involves providing exceptional beverage service at private and public events across our campus, from weddings and galas to corporate gatherings. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down bar stations, preparing and serving drinks, and ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests. Ideal candidates will be passionate about hospitality, demonstrate professionalism under pressure, and create positive experiences that reflect the Center’s high standards of service.  

Requirements

  •  Report to work in the required uniform: black pants or knee-length skirt, black dress shoes, black belt, white button-down shirt, black vest, bow tie, and nametag. Hair must be neat and well-groomed. 
  • Assist the bar team with pulling product and supplies, loading carts, and transporting items to bar locations. 
  • Set up bars with all products, glassware, signage, and supplies fully prepared for service. 
  • Greet guests warmly and maintain a professional, positive energy throughout events. 
  • Prepare and serve soft drinks, beer, wine, and mixed beverages with courtesy, patience, and professionalism, while keeping the bar clean and organized for efficient service. 
  • Serve alcohol responsibly by checking IDs, following all alcohol regulations, and upholding the highest standards of integrity. 
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, answer guest questions confidently, and assist fellow staff, vendors, and guests as needed. 
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with urgency and accuracy, while remaining calm and composed under pressure. 
  • Clean and sanitize bar tools and equipment regularly. 
  • Process credit card payments at designated events when required. 
  • Break down and store products and supplies properly at the end of each shift, collaborating with the team to ensure all areas are reset and in order. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Prior high-volume bartending experience preferred. 
  • Completion of TIRV alcohol service training is required (we can provide this). 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to engage confidently and professionally with guests. 
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends and evenings 
  • Must be able to commit to working a minimum of one to two shifts per month during peak months. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, most of the shift. 
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25-30 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items up to 50 pounds, such as cases of liquor, beer kegs, and supplies, while following proper lifting techniques. 
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, moving around a 33-acre campus to set up and break down bars across various locations.
