We are currently hiring a Long Term Care Ombudsman, to work in our Tri-County Services Office. As the Long Term Care Ombudsman, you would be responsible for:
- Meets with facility administrators and other staff to resolve facility/program conflicts, as necessary within assigned service area
- Presents the program’s services in public forums, such as speaking engagements, agency fairs, radio/television interviews, as assigned by Program Director.
- Submits reports, records, etc. in a timely manner to document volunteer and programmatic activity to the New York State Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman in accordance with the requirements established by the State Ombudsman
- Enters all required program reports/documentation into state database system in on a timely basis
- Participates in an ongoing program of education and public awareness to address systematic problems and elder abuse as well as the program’s need to recruit Ombudsman volunteers.
Long Term Care Ombudsman, Minimum Salary: $25.00 per hour
Long Term Care Ombudsman, Maximum Salary: $25.00 per hour
Long Term Care Ombudsman, Schedule: Mon – Tues, Wed, Thurs 8:30 AM - 5 PM (part time)
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, health, public administration, gerontology, law, or related fields
-A valid driver’s license and maintain required vehicle insurance with access to a vehicle during work hours
-Experience working with older adults in a long-term care facility or as an advocate is strongly preferred
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other computer applications
