Overview:The Lead Eligibility Specialist will be responsible with assisting Patient Benefit Supervisors by providing support with daily tasks and work collectively as a team with Eligibility Specialists. The Lead Eligibility Specialist will also perform and meet all the responsibilities of an Eligibility representative.
Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for training and complying with all duties assigned to the Eligibility Specialist role
- Maintain and ensure that insurance carrier standards are up to date
- Share updated information from insurance carriers in the form of quick reference guides
- Assist Patient Benefit Supervisors in the development and training of team members
- Provide end of day reports to Patient Benefit Supervisors on team progress
- Collaborate and share feedback with Patient Benefit Supervisors to increase team efficiency
- Be able to complete assigned tasks and other duties assigned from Patient Benefit Supervisors
- Act as a mentor, support, and assist in the development and training of team members
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and mentoring to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and to execute best practices
- Lead and participate in meetings and training sessions as required
- Ensures training and compliance modules are completed as needed for all team members
- Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as State, Federal, and HIPAA privacy
- Update and review productivity and quality metrics for possible action items on areas needing improvement to identify best practices
- Maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Equivalent to High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or technical school
- At least 1-3 years of related work experience
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
- Experience in Dental Field, knowledge of Dental Insurance

- Strong abilities in managing the daily operations of department(s) or work unit while developing short to medium term (1-3 years) goals
- Strong ability to lead and motivate team members during change
- Fostering employee development by providing a supportive learning environment
- Highly developed teambuilding, influencing, and collaboration skills
- Knowledgeable in HIPAA/PHI rules and regulations
- Ability to direct the work of others and work as a team leader in attainment of goals
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
- Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality with employee records, compensation information, etc.
- Ability to draw valid conclusions; apply sound judgment in making decisions and make decisions under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
