The City of Greensboro is seeking a talented Behavioral Health Counselor. As a Behavioral Health Counselor, you’ll be a vital member of the City of Greensboro's Behavioral Health Response Team, working alongside Greensboro Police Department (GPD) officers to provide compassionate, professional support to individuals experiencing mental or behavioral health situations. Salary Information: 
Hiring Salary Range:: $63,285. - $83,279. 
Full Salary Range: $50,020. - $93,091.depending on Qualifications

About the Role: 
As a Behavioral Health Counselor, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officers to respond to behavioral health-related emergencies.
  • Provide intervention, stabilization, and case management services for individuals in need.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients while connecting them to mental health services and resources in the community.
  • Serve as a compassionate advocate for individuals, helping them navigate through challenging times and access long-term support

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a directly related field of study
  • 1 or more years of experience in mental health, intervention, stabilization and case management, or a "directly" related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
       
  • Master's degree in Social Science, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a directly related field of study
  • Professional Licensure (LCSW, LCMHC, LCAS)
