Job Title: Staff Accountant
Department Name: Accounting
Reports to (title): Controller
Location: Medford
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare daily journal entries as needed
- Complete bank reconciliation daily
- Close out and reconcile counter daily
- Complete cash deposit daily, prepare bank bag and lock in safe.
- Maintain petty cash and reconcile monthly.
- Bank closing journal entries.
- Assist with sales tax reconciliation and filing.
- IFTA reconciliation and filing.
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of Amex and JPMorgan credit card expense reporting.
- Assist with monthly close activities that include account reconciliation, recording journal entries, balance sheet schedules and &L account analysis
Support to Accounts Payable
- Receive, review, and process incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness using Infor.
- Verify invoice receiving, approvals and coding to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Follow up on unmatched purchase orders, and invoices to verify the consistency of transactions.
- Ensure accuracy of invoice approvals and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile vendor statements as necessary.
- Weekly check-run
Ad hoc:
- Assisting Controller and/or Management with special projects
- Answer the phones
Requirements
Qualifications:
- College Degree
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Understanding of GAAP
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Team player, who is willing to work alongside other members of the department to contribute to successful outcomes.
- Self-motivated team player with strong communication skills
- Must possess good time-management and effective decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Prior Manufacturing experience preferred.
- MAS or Infor Software knowledge highly desirable
- Bi-lingual in Spanish helpful
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
