Key Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Property team by providing excellent, high-quality legal advice to new existing and existing clients.
- Draft, review, analyse and negotiate a wide range of legal documents relevant to the area of law.
- Engage in new business development activities with a proactive and planned approach.
- Advise on case strategy and proactively make service improvements and cross-referrals.
- Analyse problems, highlight areas of risk and think critically to resolve issues.
- Exercise sound financial management by ensuring that work is undertaken at the right level.
- Develop and maintain good client relationships and enhance the Firm’s client base by effective liaison with existing and new clients.
- Demonstrate a planned approach to business development, attending events and actively targeting new work.
- Maintain the level of competence and knowledge to practice efficiently by keeping abreast with changes and developments in the law.
- Proactively supervise and share advice and knowledge with team members.
- Proactively and effectively manage individual and team performance, identify where others may need assistance and provide appropriate support or mentoring.
- Lead by example at all times in line with the SRA competence standards.
- Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and post.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5PQE + qualified Solicitor or MCILEX / FCILEX with relevant experience in commercial property.
- Experience in the housing sector including social housing work an advantage.
- Experience of working with Third Sector clients an advantage.
- Excellent level of technical legal knowledge.
- Ability to communicate confidently with both clients and all department levels across the Firm.
- High attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
- Ability to identity where support and guidance for junior members of the team is needed.

- 35 hour working week - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
