On Time Trucking, Inc., a leader in LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) transportation, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and dock operations. This role is responsible for managing inbound and outbound freight, inventory control, yard coordination, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance while maintaining a high standard of service for both internal and external stakeholders.


The Warehouse Supervisor will directly supervise dock workers, forklift operators, and yard switchers, and will be responsible for performance management, scheduling, and labor tracking through our HRIS platform, Paylocity.

Requirements

Inbound & Outbound Operations

  • Oversee receiving, inspection, and documentation of inbound freight, ensuring accuracy against bills of lading and purchase orders.
  • Supervise outbound shipping operations to ensure all freight is properly picked, packed, labeled, and secured for transit.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded and unloaded accurately and on time, with all required shipping documents properly completed.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, part number verification, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation, freight location accuracy, and optimal warehouse layout for space and flow efficiency.

Team Leadership & HR Coordination

  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, forklift operators, and yard personnel.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Use Paylocity to review, manage, and approve employee timecards, PTO requests, and scheduling adjustments in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and support employee development.

Yard & Dock Coordination

  • Work closely with yard switchers to assign trailer doors and ensure efficient movement of trailers within the yard.
  • Monitor trailer check-ins/outs and maintain accurate yard inventory.
  • Ensure timely coordination with dispatch and drivers for live loads and drop trailers.

Safety, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Enforce all OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards to maintain a clean and hazard-free environment.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, lead toolbox talks, and ensure proper use of PPE and equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices aligned with LEAN      principles (5S/6S).

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide daily operational reports to management, including shipping/receiving metrics, labor performance, and dock/yard activity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer service, dispatch, inventory control, and other departments.
  • Escalate operational issues promptly and assist in root cause analysis and resolution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse or LTL terminal operations.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a logistics, transportation, or distribution environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience using Paylocity (or similar HRIS) to manage timekeeping, scheduling, and PTO approvals.
  • Proficient in TMS systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and inventory control systems.

Certifications:

  • Forklift certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • HAZMAT training and DOT yard operations knowledge is a plus.

Leadership Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in warehouse and outdoor yard environments
  • Standing, walking, climbing, and bending required throughout shift

OTT Qualities

  • Adherence to all OTT Safety, Quality, ISO and HR policies and standards
