SUMMARY
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing engineering activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production processes for the manufacturing of electronic assemblies by performing the following duties either in person or by directing subordinates:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and sales departments for new business opportunities and to support NPI and the transition of new products into production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
- Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiency.
- Develop and manage the manufacturing engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost control.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure all machines have scheduled maintenance performed, and that machines are repaired as quickly as possible to minimize down time and loss of production.
- As required, supports Facilities to ensure all building, equipment, and grounds are maintained and that regularly scheduled maintenance is performed.
- Must be adaptive and supportive of change and possess good communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a variety of manufacturing engineering and maintenance-related roles. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements and optimization.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from four-year college or university and 5+ years related engineering managerial experience.
- Familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures for manufacturing systems.
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or executives.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
