Job Summary
Hours: Salaried position.
Schedule: Flexible schedule with weekends and evenings a must. The schedule will be determined each week depending on the event schedule and appointments confirmed.
Responsible for the overall solicitation, promotion, sales and contracting of group (non-wedding) events on property. Works closely with many departments, but specifically the Event Services and Banquets Teams to ensure the proper relay of information leading to successful event execution.
Complies with all guest service basics, such as uniforms, name tags, and proper guest greetings. Knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate. Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand, and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices, and regulations. Strive to exceed guest expectations with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

- Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with specified accounts to create trust, loyalty, and lasting business relationships.
- Interact with all departments in a positive and professional manner.
- Books events for both Group and select social markets.
- Follow up on all leads within 24 hours.
- Conduct direct sales solicitation through phone calls, email communication, appointments, and site tours.
- Facilitate sales and marketing presentations for prospective clients.
- Multitask with several sales functions, deadlines, and responsibilities.
- Monitors and communicates customer needs to other departments and is aware of upcoming events and/or groups in-house.
- Attends weekly Food and Beverage meetings as needed.
- Establish priorities set by the Director of Sales & Marketing for effective time management to focus on revenue-generating activities. Monitor production of all specified accounts and evaluate trends within specified markets.

- Travel as necessary to meet potential clients, conduct sales presentations, and promote Mill Falls at the Lake.
- Represents Mill Falls at the Lake industry-related trade shows and participate in promotional activities and networking opportunities as required.
- Team player in developing marketing strategies for the Sales Team and ways to improve overall sales for all markets with his/her colleagues.
- Assists with special projects as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager.
Skills Required

Education and Experience:
High school education plus schooling in hospitality management, business, or related experience. Two or more years of related experience. Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Requires strong sales & negotiation skills, food & beverage skills, and the ability to upsell and enhance each event. Strong attention to detail. Excellent Communication skills – both verbal and written required. Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Knowledge and ability to actively sell all markets when needed. Aptitude in Delphi, Springer-Miller - HOST, Outlook, Excel and Word are required. Ability to work well as a team and individually to meet to goals of the department. Ability to multi-task in a very high-paced environment
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
While performing job duties, the associate speaks, listens, completes documents, processes requests, and operates office equipment such as a telephone, calculator, computer, copier, and fax. Physical requirements include extended periods of standing and/or walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The job requires close vision with or without corrective lenses. This position may be required to operate a motor vehicle.
