POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Staff Accountant will support the financial operations of the manufacturing plant by performing a variety of accounting, analytical, and administrative tasks. This role is key to maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end closing, supporting internal controls, and collaborating effectively across departments. This is a full-time position.

Requirements
- SKILLS -
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SyteLine, QuickBooks) a plus.
- Experience with payroll processing software a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

EXPERIENCE - Previous internship or work experience in accounting, manufacturing, or related industries preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL - Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, talk, and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficiently to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations. Possess specific vision abilities including near vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform the requirements of the position.
MENTAL - Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and possess the ability to communicate clearly on technical and business levels while maintaining professional conduct is essential.
WORKING CONDITIONS:The Staff Accountant will primarily work in a plant office setting which is a temperature controlled, smoke free environment that also has typical factory hazards including noise, dust, cutting, drilling, solvents and blocked walkways and tripping hazards. United Equipment Accessories, Inc. functions in a real market environment that changes at various times of the year which occasionally may create high output or greater time pressure demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE:
- Follow rules and processes as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality Manual and Safety training regarding conduct and performance standards expected of all employees
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger postings.
- Support month-end and year-end close by gathering data, preparing schedules, and contributing to timely financial reporting.
- Analyze variances and trends in financial data and assist with preparing management reports.
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Transactions & Payroll
- Process customer and vendor payments, ensure accurate cash application and timely disbursements, and help maintain current accounts receivable by minimizing aged balances.
- Maintain professional and collaborative business relationships with suppliers, customers, and employees
- Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile other balance sheet accounts.
- Manage fixed assets by tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and process accurate biweekly payroll for employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
- Controls & Compliance
- Monitor and help enforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Stay current on accounting standards and best practices, particularly those relevant to manufacturing operations and GAAP compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, purchasing, quality, etc.) to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial data.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and process improvements, including automation initiatives and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
