D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager. The right candidate is responsible for preparation and coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. This position will schedule, conduct and coordinate assigned engineering work, monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project consultants.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support, oversee, and coordinate engineering activities and interaction with the client’s designated representatives and jurisdictional agency personnel

  • Manage and supervise multiple project teams consisting of engineers, CAD designers and technicians, sub-consultants, and contractors to successfully complete a project and deliver high quality technical excellence

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the financial and technical aspects of various projects

  • Coordinate and manage overall project schedules and budget constraints for all assigned projects through completion

  • Responsible for quality control review of design elements, contractual obligations and overall deliverables prior to external release

  • Identify, interpret and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversight

  • Analyze, interpret, and stay abreast of latest regulations and criteria for local, state, and federal regulatory agencies

  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously

  • Demonstrate solid judgement in anticipating and solving both routine and complex operational issues, determining operational objectives and requirements, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities

  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

  • Ability to travel overnight

     

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

  • Supervises 2 or more employees


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET accredited college or university

  • Registered and active P.E. in the state of employment with ability to obtain reciprocity in other states as may be required

  • Minimum 15+ years of engineering experience and minimum 10+ years of experience related to Land Development Projects

  • Must exhibit excellent management and leadership skills, with an aptitude to train and mentor staff

  • Proficient in technical writing for deliverables including work plans, contract documents, summary reports and project correspondence

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft office platforms including Microsoft Project

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications

  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

  • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

  • The noise level is generally moderate
