Job Description
- Performing quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify trends and insights. (30%)
- Conducting data collection, cleaning, and organization to prepare datasets for analysis. (20%)
- Supporting focus groups, including note-taking, transcription, and initial qualitative analysis. (15%)
- Drafting summaries and sections of internal reports, highlighting key findings for faculty and administrators. (15%)
- Assisting in the design and distribution of surveys across academic programs. (10%)
- Collaborating with the CTE Director and Associate Director on targeted projects that align with KU’s strategic goals for teaching and learning. (10%)

Required Qualifications
- Strong and effective organizational and communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
- Experience with survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics) and data management (Excel, SPSS, R,
or similar). - Ability to synthesize information clearly in writing, as evidenced by application materials.
- Good and effective judgment, strong initiative, timely delivery, and detail-oriented, as verified by
former supervisors and application materials. - In good standing in a graduate program at the University of Kansas

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with program evaluation or assessment.
- Experience with quantitative or qualitative data analysis.
- Interest in or experience with the scholarship of teaching and learning, evaluation of
student learning, educational research, or discipline-based educational research, as evidenced by application materials.
Position Overview
The GRA will work under the supervision of the Evaluation & Engagement Specialist and may also assist the Director of the CTE and the Associate Director for Student Learning and Analytics on special projects that advance the mission of the Center. Professional development benefits of this position include experience with institutional research and program evaluation in higher education, collaborative work with faculty and campus leadership, application of qualitative and quantitative methods to real-world educational challenges, and development of professional skills in data reporting, visualization, and communication.
- This is a 12-month, .5 FTE (20 hours per-week) appointment.
- The position is based at the Center for Teaching Excellence on the KU Lawrence campus, with some flexibility depending on project need.
- This GRA appointment includes a salary rate, tuition support, and benefits consistent with KU’s Graduate Research Assistant policies
