special education paraprofessional at Sheridan School District No. 2

1. Co-planning, delivering, and reflecting upon daily lesson plans with classroom teacher.
2. Assists in the supervision and activities for students.
3. Monitors and assist with child behavior management.
4. Monitors students in non-classroom settings, and assists with everyday situations.
5. Attend various meetings as needed.
6. Other duties as directed.

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to communicate effectively
•  

1. At least 48 credit hours completed at an institute of higher education; OR
2. An Associate’s (or higher) degree; OR

• Experience using computers, word processing programs and general office equipment.
• One to three years of experience as an elementary paraprofessional highly desired.
• Experience working with Special Education students preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.

All employees are required by state statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA and the District contributes 21% in addition to employee contribution.
