Essential Functions

  • Maintains and operates electronic communications equipment.
  • Operates and maintains operational voice and data communications, public address equipment, administrative telephone systems, and circuits, under minimal supervision.  
  • References written or graphic documentation or verbal directions to activate, operate, maintain, modify, repair, overhaul, relocate, or replace communication panels, headsets, handsets, telephones, speakers, microphones, ringer and alarm signaling devices, uninterruptible power systems, filters, couplers, cables, and associated wiring, cabling, and circuits.  
  • Performs complex and/or routine tasks while working on electronic equipment, following detailed instructions, and assists peer technicians to install, remove, operate, and maintain equipment and supporting hardware using common hand tools, under technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technicians.
  • Perform other duties/cross utilization as assigned.  

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and write instructions, correspondence and memos.  
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

 Required Experience

  • Associates degree in Electronics or communications or equivalent military technical school training in electronics or communications – or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two or more years’ technician experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to frequently stand, balance, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb up to 50 ft.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License or state issued ID

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $34.17 to $39.07.  RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
