The Digital Media Specialist will assist the Hawaii Community College External Affairs Office communicate with students, prospective students and other stakeholders about changes and new opportunities. There are opportunities at Hawaii Community College related to distance education, basic needs initiatives, and changes to academic offerings and student services. In order for these opportunities to succeed, Hawaii Community College needs to effectively communicate these programs to students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop communications projects and priorities in collaboration with supervisor.
- Shoot and edit video and still photos for distribution through social media, the web and other platforms.
- Coordinate with Hawaii CC faculty, staff, and students to schedule and execute projects.
- Gather information and conduct research in support of projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May require travel to various locations on Hawaii Island.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Creative Media, Digital Media or related field and 1 year(s) of professional experience as a digital media specialist, videographer, photographer or in a related position, or equivalent education/training or experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience shooting and editing video and photos for multiple purposes, including social media and distribution to the web and the news media.
- Experience capturing high-quality audio to accompany video projects.
- Experience creating engaging social media content and posting videos and photos to various social media platforms.
- Experience with video editing and photo editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro.
