Summary
The Manufacturing Machining Engineer Technician supports daily manufacturing operations with a focus on process efficiency/improvement, cost reduction, and quoting new work opportunities. This role involves CNC programming, tooling, prototyping, and process optimization for machining metals and alloys. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Functions
- Supports daily operations in providing cost effective solutions

- Supports in quoting new business opportunities
- Develops and supports implementing error proofing in continuous improvement projects using root cause/corrective action tools
- Leads in providing prototypes and pre-series samples on new programs, and supports in launching of new products during APQP
- Writes, uploads, and proofs out CNC programs
- Liaison for tooling and machining suppliers
- Supports in process plans, BOM’s, routings, purchasing requisitions, PFMEA, and safety initiatives
· Follows all safety, environment and quality procedures and instructions.

Requirements
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires at least 40 hours per week.
Education and Experience Requirements
· Preferred Associates in Technical Degree but not required
· Minimum of 3 years professional experience in manufacturing machining
- Subject matter expertise in the following manufacturing processes:
- CNC Milling and Turning (standard and multi axis)
- Broaching, Shaping, Spline Rolling, and Hobbing
- CNC Grinding (ID, OD, Centerless, Surface)
- Heat Treatments
- Machining experience with metals/alloys such as aluminum, steel, cast iron, powder/sintered metal
- CAD/CAM experience
- PPAP experience
- Fixture designing (manual & hydraulic)
- Problem solving techniques (six sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, PFMEA)
- Proficient with interpretation and application of GD&T
