Fabricates wooden pallets and crates for safe shipping of Mark Andy capital equipment to our customers domestically and internationally.  Check shipment to ensure it has the correct order configuration and customer location. Make necessary edits.  Perform duties in a safe and quality conscious manner. This is a 1st shift position - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. with a 30-minute lunch.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Build crates for domestic or foreign shipment; cuts lumber and plywood to various lengths and sizes to accommodate product.
  • Electrically and mechanically disconnects and disassembles in-line presses into appropriate shipping sizes using hand tools, power tools, etc.
  • Moves presses to the crating department using air float pads, forklift, pallet jack, etc.
  • Crates customer orders and press parts to ship to correct destination.
  • Inspects customer orders visually for damage prior to crating.
  • Provides dimensions on customer orders and presses to the Shipping Coordinator.
  • Attaches appropriate labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, safety, handling, and type of product contained in crate.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:   

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in shipping 
  • Carpentry
  • Basic Mathematics
  • Basic mechanical abilities

Work Environment 
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment. 
   
Physical Demands 
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
