The Inbound and Receiving Supervisor oversees all inbound operations and receiving activities during the second shift, leading a team of distribution associates and lead personnel to ensure efficient workflow, optimal productivity, and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage personnel, coordinate cross-shift activities, and maintain operational excellence while ensuring compliance with all safety and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, coach, and develop inbound leads and distribution associates to achieve departmental goals and maintain high performance standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document team performance; conduct coaching sessions and disciplinary actions as needed to maintain accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Train team members on proper inbound and receiving procedures, safety protocols, and warehouse management systems to ensure competency and compliance.
  • Oversee the complete inbound and receiving workflow, ensuring seamless integration between shifts and departments to maintain continuous operations.
  • Monitor and analyze inbound inventory procedures, manage receiving discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy and prevent future issues.
  • Ensure all inbound operations support timely order fulfillment and customer service objectives, maintaining 100% order fill rates and meeting customer-desired delivery dates.
  • Analyze current inbound and receiving processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement operational improvements to enhance productivity and service levels.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review operational reports, performance metrics, and compliance documentation to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other shift supervisors and department leaders to ensure smooth transitions, consistent communication, and a unified operational approach.
  • Ensure all material handling equipment is adequately maintained and operated safely; enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of warehouse or distribution experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • Understanding of inbound logistics, receiving operations, and warehouse management principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle ERP systems
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and distribution software applications
  • Demonstrated servant leadership approach with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and external customers
  • Strong ability to delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability and quality standards

Schedule:

  • Second Shift Hours: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Monday through Friday
