ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise the day-to-day output of Relocation Payroll Tax Analysts to ensure delivery of accurate and timely payroll and tax reporting as outlined by client-specific processes
- Perform payroll and tax reporting on new and/or critical clients as part of the ongoing stabilization of new business as required prior to transitioning to staff
- Communicate clearly and effectively with client and tax provider, and respond timely communications
- Perform quality control audits; monitor and evaluate effectiveness of analysts’ efforts
- Hold one-on-one meetings with team members as part of overall team oversight and staff development activities
- Perform annual staff evaluation in collaboration with team’s director, manager and vice president
- Monitoring SLA reporting for all clients, with escalation to leadership as required
- Aggregation of team metrics
- Deliver training on new processes, systems, policies, and procedures to current and new employees
- Support system testing related to enhancements, tax updates and ad hoc system updates
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and service partners, pertinent to execution of position responsibilities
- Complete additional assignments, activities and / or projects as requested by leadership
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, or equivalent combination of experience, skills, training and education
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- 5 + years of overall accounting experience, specifically in the area of payroll or relocation tax / gross-up processes within the relocation industry, consulting firm or multinational company in positions of increasing responsibility
- Comprehensive knowledge of relocation benefits, and current U.S. relocation tax laws and regulations
- Strong presentation skills before small, medium and large audiences
- Demonstrated experience with accounting performance metrics
- Prior experience supervising small teams preferred
- Must have demonstrated expertise using multiple software packages and payroll systems, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, MoveTrack, AssignmentPro, Solomon, and other current accounting software packages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and must have the ability to confidently communicate at multiple levels within an organization
The team lead must have strong knowledge of the relocation process as it pertains to policy interpretation and application; must be knowledgeable of current relocation tax laws and regulations; must have the ability to communicate and provide consultation to internal and external process stakeholders regarding different gross-up methodologies and impact to cost. Must demonstrate the ability to support multiple projects. Some may be complex in nature; build trust through relationship management, manage to deadlines and rely on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals and support Company vision and value statements, policies and procedures, privacy, security and confidentiality standards and code of ethical behavior.
WORK/PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Hybrid between office and home work environments. Team member must be able to operate standard office equipment. Team member spends substantial amount of time working on the computer, on the phone, attending meetings and working under deadlines.
