Overview:

The Small Format Accounts Collections Analyst is responsible for the timely collection of a designated portfolio, which includes both national and regional accounts. Key responsibilities include maintaining account balances within targeted DCSO levels, conducting thorough risk assessments, and completing account maintenance reviews accurately and promptly to mitigate bad debt risk and protect cash flow.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned portfolio of accounts, including reconciliations, collections, and support for deductions management.
  • Execute targeted collection strategies to improve period-end/monthly DCSO, cash flow, and other key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to resolve customer-specific requirements and reconciliation issues.
  • Partner with the offshore processing team to ensure customer setup and maintenance requests are completed within 2 days.
  • Address SAP job errors related to VersaPay payments, coordinating with IT for timely resolution.
  • Oversee collections of NSF/unpaid balances for all AutoPay customers in VersaPay, working closely with field teams for resolution.
  • Develop and redesign Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation for the team.
  • Support any other ad hoc requests as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Over 3 years of experience in credit and collections within a computerized environment, preferably using Oracle AR, managing high-volume major retail accounts.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, with the ability to engage key stakeholders to resolve invalid deductions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams while maintaining customer goodwill and loyalty.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including PivotTables and VLOOKUP).
  • Technically adept, with preferred experience in SAP systems.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a business-related field such as finance or economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong time and desk management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Tactful yet assertive, with strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Active listening skills to understand issues and deliver effective solutions.
