Role Overview

ASC is seeking a passionate and experienced Safety Trainer to build and lead our hands-on safety training program from the ground up. This newly created role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and is ready to make a lasting impact on employee safety and operational excellence.

As Safety Trainer, you’ll design and deliver engaging, shop-floor-based training programs that ensure compliance with OSHA standards and empower employees to work safely and confidently. You’ll collaborate across departments to foster a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

  

Key Responsibilities

Program Development

  • Create and launch ASC’s Safety On-the-Job Training (OJT) program
  • Develop training content, schedules, tracking systems, and assessments
  • Align training initiatives with OSHA and company safety policies

Training & Facilitation

  • Lead interactive, hands-on training sessions on Lockout/Tagout, PPE, machine safety, forklift operation, hot work, and more
  • Facilitate daily safety huddles, weekly refreshers, and new hire onboarding
  • Provide coaching and mentorship during and after training

Program Management

  • Maintain accurate training records for audits and compliance
  • Monitor post-training performance and provide follow-up coaching
  • Support supervisors in identifying and addressing safety skill gaps

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and incident data
  • Update training materials based on trends and safety metrics
  • Serve as a safety ambassador and help strengthen ASC’s EHS culture

What We’re Looking Fo

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5 years in a safety or training role within manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA standards
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working independently and leading new initiatives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Certifications

  • Required: OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR
  • Preferred: Forklift Trainer, HAZCOM, Fall Protection Trainer, CIT or similar credential

  

Success Metrics

  • Launch full Safety OJT program within 120 days
  • Reduce safety incidents among newly trained employees
  • Achieve 100% annual retraining compliance
  • Maintain 100% accuracy in monthly training documentation audits

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature fluctuations
  • Frequent walking, standing, and use of PPE required
