JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: TEACHING ASSISTANT
JOB GOAL: Dallin's Teaching Assistant will support general and special educators by working with students across school settings to enable them to access the curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Experience and eagerness in working with children
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with a team that includes Principal, Classroom Teacher, Special Educators, other building staff, related service personnel, clinicians and parents
- Ability to establish positive connections with students and colleagues
- Desire to learn and grow skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with classroom management in classrooms
- Establish emotionally supportive rapport with students
- Accurately implement content, instructional and performance modifications as designed by the classroom teacher
- Ensure information is shared among teachers/staff, when necessary
- Attend organizational meetings, as well as professional development, as determined by administrators
- Greet students upon arrival to school, assist with student dismissal
- Collaborate with staff to support school-wide expectations
- Play with and actively supervise students at recess and lunch
- Perform other duties as delineated by teacher or other supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 183 Days. 7.00 hours per day (this position is 0.8 FTE and would work a part time schedule)
