Summary:
This hybrid role supports both the Energy and Agronomy departments, contributing to the growth and profitability of Sunrise Cooperative through effective service, delivery, and customer support. The position involves seasonal shifts in responsibilities, with a focus on agronomy operations during the spring and summer and energy services during the fall and winter. Responsibilities include delivery of propane, lubricants, and crop inputs, custom application, equipment maintenance, and emergency service support.
Primary Responsibilities:
Energy Operations (Fall/Winter Focus)
· Load, secure, and deliver propane, lubricants, DEF, and liquid fuel.
· Install and test propane and petroleum tanks and equipment.
· Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment.
· Maintain and clean vehicles, equipment, and work areas.
· Adhere to NFPA 58 and all relevant transportation and safety regulations.
· Provide courteous and professional customer service.
· Participate in emergency on-call energy service rotations.
Agronomy Operations (Spring/Summer Focus)
· Work as a team member in custom application of crop protection and nutrient products using specialized equipment.
· Conduct soil sampling using GPS-enabled automated probes.
· Deliver seed, crop protection, and nutrient products using various vehicles.
· Maintain and repair agronomy equipment and document work performed.
· Assist with facility upkeep and operational support at the agronomy plant.
Secondary Responsibilities:
· Support grain operations during peak seasons (as needed).
· Assist with grain grading, dumping, bin cleaning, and train/truck loading.
· Participate in after-hours grain train loading when scheduled.
· Perform other duties as assigned across departments.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Valid Class A CDL with Haz-Mat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsements (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
· Ability to obtain Ohio Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide License.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate forklifts and trenchers.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and team members.
· Proficient with smart tablets, smartphones, and basic computer applications.
· Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and driving record check.
· Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime during peak seasons.
