About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is in search of an Assistant Branch Manager II. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring, training and leading larger branches/department staff in skills and behaviors that reflect a service methodology and philosophy to create and foster a sales oriented culture. Promote quality service and provide positive leadership to the Kitsap Credit Union team. Assist the Branch Manager to develop, maintain and execute branch/department strategic plan in conjunction with and support of the credit union strategic plan.

Salary Range: $33.62 - $37.46 an hour depending on experience

Bonus Target: 6% potential incentive of base pay

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for daily operations, sales, service, employee development, safety, compliance and security
  • Responsible for coaching, leading and motivating branch employees; promote participation in cross sales of products and services. Meet with employees regularly to establish and reinforce sales/service goals.
  • Conduct quality control observations in the areas of sales and service to provide employee feedback and ensure quality member service
  • Work with the branch manager on cash requirements, conduct vault and teller drawer audits and balance branch totals daily, as required
  • Enhance organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Proactively generate new loan and membership business through branch sales activities, network with local businesses and participate in community events
  • Actively contribute in the area of continuous quality improvement, solicit and contribute new ideas and methods to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and procedures
  • Build market position by locating, developing and closing business relationships
  • Educate and introduce members to self-service and assisted self-serve options, with continual education as new products and digital services are introduced
  • Plan, organize and direct daily branch/department activities and workflows to ensure efficient and effective operations as it relates to new account, lending, and member services
  • Provide data and reports on branch staffing, productivity, operational efficiency and effectiveness and provide solutions and ideas for improved operational effectiveness
  • Direct the workflow, be a resource for staff and members to answer complex questions and or resolve non-routine problems that may arise. Perform teller cash audits, review and approve transaction exceptions.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five years managerial or supervisory experience leading larger teams. Combination of Financial Institution, education, KCU experience and / or supervisory experience leading a project or team
  • Must be able to work Saturdays and extended business hours
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations

 

SUPERVISORY STATUS

This position supervises others and is responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, delegate effectively, and embrace the organization’s core values, ensuring team effectiveness.

 

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
  • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
