Scott Credit Union is looking to hire a full-time Virtual Loan Consultant to join our amazing Consumer Lending team. This position works Monday thru Friday normal business hours, with a Saturday rotation schedule.  

*Training is to be completed in the first 30-90 days of employment at our Edwardsville, IL Home Office location.

*Upon successful completion of training, qualifying employees may be eligible for a hybrid schedule.

The Day to Day as a Virtual Loan Consultant

Under the supervision of the Loan Center Supervisor, responsible for executing SCU’s member engagement model to inform and educate members on consumer lending products and services offered by SCU. Maintains a deep knowledge of SCU’s lending products and services and displays the ability to determine how these services can enhance and broaden a member’s financial picture. Responsible for providing direct support for members using the credit union’s electronic and self-service loan channels. Requires an ability to communicate effectively with prospective and current members via telephone, email, and video (i.e. Skype) and chat. Consultant will represent the credit union in a positive and professional manner.

  • Provides direct support for online loan applications
  • Perform prompt, efficient and accurate processing of member loan requests, including data input, documenting loans, and booking designated unsecured loans.
  • Analyze potential lending and cross selling opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union’s lending portfolio.
  • Accountable for meeting individual sales and lending goals through the online/mobile channels.
  • Responds timely to member online loan application via telephone, email and chat.
  • Operates computer to accurately access account information, support telephone applications, and generally update member account transactions and information.
  • Performs such other lending functions as required and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.
  • Assist with the telephone loan line and application processing during peak times, or when designated by management team.
  • Responds to routine member inquiries regarding lending products, services, and applications.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED 
  • Experience working in a financial institution or call center
  • Personal computer experience, including Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:

  • Consumer lending experience
  • Mobile device experience to include iOS, Android or Windows 10
