The Position: LVN is responsible for providing nursing care and support to all individuals receiving services from McKinley. This role involves some travel to McKinley�s satellite offices across Los Angeles and Riverside Counties to provide direct support to clients and program staff. The LVN/LPT will play a key role in ensuring consistent care delivery across all locations

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we�re offering is $25.00-$28.00 hourly depending (Based) on experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • 3-5 Years of Mental Health Service Experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred
  • All Health Services Department Personnel who provide direct care are required to maintain competency in Basic Life Support, following the American Heart Association BLS Guidelines.
  • A BLS Course must be successfully completed every 2 years.
  • All BLS Courses must contain AED Training

COMPUTER/OFFICE SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, other office-related software, and Internet Competency
  • General Office Skills; Excellent Writing Skills

PHYSICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination, tuberculosis (TB) test, and drug screening
  • Ability to Commute to Various Sites on Campus
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, and providing mobility
  • Visual and auditory acuity to perform responsibilities
  • Manual dexterity is required for using tools and technology
  • May be required to perform prolonged work at a computer for documentation, planning, and communication purposes

CLEARANCES REQUIRED:

  • Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Child Abuse Index (CACI)
  • Insurability under Corporate Automobile Insurance

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Some travel to McKinley�s satellite offices in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties to provide direct care services to clients, including obtaining vital signs, medication education, and supporting MDs with medication management and court documentation
  • Serve as the primary health services liaison between McKinley�s main office and satellite locations, ensuring communication and alignment on healthcare protocols
  • Provide direct care to clients enrolled in multiple programs (i.e., ORR, STRTP, School Setting, and Community Mental Health). Primary concern must be given to the emotional and psychological needs of the clients.
  • Provide mental health services within the scope of practice
  • Work directly with individual clients with special medical needs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies) so that they are better prepared to cope with their special needs
  • Conduct educational groups with clients to promote wellness, STD awareness, sex education, etc.
  • Work with individuals and groups of clients to help them understand procedures such as immunizations, blood tests, and examinations
  • Work with clients to help them understand the effects of medications
  • Write health summaries for each client as part of their overall treatment plan
  • Maintain appropriate medical supplies
  • Provide assistance to staff regarding medical care of clients, medication, first aid, and wellness
  • Aid psychiatrists in obtaining court authorization for medication as required by individual counties, and keep authorizations on file
  • Work with team members to help them understand the interrelation between a client's physical and psychological needs
  • Review designated Incident Reports to ensure that the client's health is safeguarded (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA)
  • Comply with all governmental and company regulations in the area of Health Services
  • Comply with the documentation standards and protocols for each individual program.
  • Complete all required county, state, federal, and agency documentation
  • Participate in the agency�s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan as assigned
  • Other related duties as assigned
