Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a part-time Helpdesk/Media Technician at the Rice Lake Campus.
Under the direction of the Service Desk Technician III, the Helpdesk/Media Technician is responsible for the daily operation of the assigned campus/location computing and media services environment; providing direct support to college staff and students; and providing technology support in accordance with overall objectives of College technology services.

- Serving as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance through the Help Desk.
- Provide support to students and staff
- Provide technology setup and support for conference centers and college meetings
- Provide event support, requiring occasional evening and/or weekend work as needed
- Provide occasional on-site support for all campus and outreach centers as required
- Performs standard equipment setup including computers, projectors, speakers, displays and other multimedia equipment
- Provide technical assistance in the management of computer systems
- Install, configure, upgrade and support software/hardware
- Assist in maintaining the campus local area network
- Assist with physical asset management processes
- Provide written documentation of software/hardware to include training and demonstration of the use of software and equipment
- Keep current with new and emerging technologies
- Demonstrate a positive impression of Northwood Tech in internal and external relationships
- Actively participate in campus and college-wide teams and committees
- Other duties as assigned.
Degree & Experience Required:
- Associate’s degree (or two years post-secondary education) in related field
- Two years related work experience
Degree & Experience Equivalency:
*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
- Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
- Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
- Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
- Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy
Preferred:
- IT experience or training
FY26 Salary - Grade H - $21.31 / hour
