Hybrid Accounting Clerk - Part Time at Glass City Federal Credit Union

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Verify and/or post payroll, Automated Clearing House (ACH), checks, Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), Bill Pay, Indirect Lending and credit union fees.

Receive member requests for payroll distributions, ACH stop payments, ACH originations and copy of checks accurately entering the information into the credit union software. Send completed forms to scanning.

Process outgoing and incoming wire transfers.

Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.

Assist employees and members by answering questions related to their accounts including, but not limited to, payroll, ACH, and Checks. Retrieve requests for checks and make adjustments as appropriate.

Maintain the Accounting Department records by filing forms in the proper locations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with two years related experience in the Accounting field, or a minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting with one year related experience required.
• Good understanding of general ledger, journal entry activity and financial statements.
• Strong PC skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing credit union members and projecting a positive image as a representative for the credit union.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and accounting and geometry. Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
