Title: Program Supervisor – Food
Location: Bellevue, WA
Work schedule: Work schedule: Full-Time onsite, 40 hours/week. Market distribution days are typically Monday-Thursday 8:30-5, Fridays 8:30-2:30. Includes 1, 10-hour shift per week and may include up to 2 evenings until 7:30pm per week. (Some ability to flex hours for evenings distribution or occasional weekend events required.)

The career opportunity:
Hopelink provides food assistance to mitigate hunger and support basic food security for low-income households in North and East King County. The Food Program Supervisor works with the food team, volunteers, and clients at our no-cost food assistance markets.
The Food Program Supervisor coordinates the food program at a specific center; provides guidance, direction, and supervision to volunteer staff. Responsible for weekly ordering of fresh and non-perishable food from multiple sources, maintains Hopelink Markets inventory and overall cleanliness of the markets. Performs client intake, determines client eligibility, and provides appropriate information and referrals. The Food Program Supervisor provides leadership for the volunteer staff and sets the tone for culturally competent and client focused customer service for all food market participants.

- AA degree in social work, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and/or military service preferred.
- Experience with supervision in a multi-purpose facility or program related to community services. Volunteer supervision skills a plus.
- Experience working with low-income families is helpful.
- Strong commitment to customer service with de-escalation or conflict resolution skills.
- Valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Lists, SharePoint, and general inventory software, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively required.
Examples of what you will be doing:
- Responsible for the operation of Hopelink Markets (daytime & evening distributions up to 7:30pm), including set-up, operation and clean-up. The occurrence of Hopelink Markets schedules varies by center and Food Program Supervisors may provide coverage at other centers. The schedule will include regular evenings and occasional weekends.
- Actively participate in a team culture which is collaborative, flexible, supportive and client and mission focused.
- Maintain food inventory, knowledgeable (or interested in learning) about current food supplies, rotation of stock and safety in the workplace.
- Recruit, train, organize, assign, and supervise volunteers. Schedule volunteers to ensure necessary support for food market operations.
- Ensure volunteer staff are engaged, motivated, supported, and properly trained in safety procedures, food market best practices, and client-focused customer service.
- Utilize an inventory database to assist with food-related data and reports.
- Responsible for weekly ordering of fresh and non-perishable food from multiple sources.
- Supervise and oversee food pick-ups at grocery stores; act as backup driver as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the food market.
- Develop working knowledge of available services in the larger community, participating with local organizational meetings and information sessions. Provide information and referrals to other community resources and programs for visitors and clients.
- Maintain and update paper and electronic client files as needed including direct data entry of client information during intake.
- Data collection and preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual summary reports.

- Compensation: $26.39 per hour
- Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually based on accrual and 10 paid holidays
- Up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week
