We are looking for passionate, caring, and dedicated counselors and social workers to provide office-based and telehealth services to our clients.


The Crisis Recovery Center will transform crisis care by providing 24/7 walk-in behavioral health services meant to immediately identify, triage, address, stabilize and treat persons in mental health crisis and assist those who have substance abuse withdrawal needs. 


POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient psychiatric services to diverse populations that include patients that are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental issues as well as patients suffering with non-persistent mental illnesses in a community mental health setting.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs psychiatric evaluations on new patients as clinically appropriate
  • Incorporates the new or revised medical treatment plan into the existing Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Maintains necessary and required concurrent documentation within the EHR.
  • Conducts Peer Review activities as required.
  • Attends Psychiatric, Clinical and other Agency meetings as required.
  • Works collaboratively with staff to coordinate care to patients
  • Completes documentation required to assist clients if clinically indicated
  • Prescribes psychotropic medications.
  • Facilitates communication with Providers outside of the agency when laboratory abnormalities are discovered.
  • Assists other nurses with implementing medical treatment and tracking procedures.
  • Meets regularly with collaborating Psychiatrist to effectively communicate about cases.
  • Collaborates actively with client's treatment team to ensure best care and common treatment goals.
  • Achieves required productivity expectation.
  • Reacts to change and stress productively.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Gets along with others and works as a team.
  • Exhibits the knowledge, skills, abilities, and minimum requirements listed in this Position Description.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following: a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues.
  • The employee must exhibit sensitivity to different cultures.
  • This employee must be up to date on all certifications, continuing education, and registration with the Ohio Board of Nursing which allows prescription authority under supervision in the State of Ohio.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The work is mainly provided in an office setting, although travel may be required dependent upon services contracted through other agencies such as medical, rehabilitation, or correctional settings. Because of the variety of environments and physical conditions that will be encountered, this individual must be able to successfully interact and navigate in all types of facilities and weather conditions.
  • This individual may periodically be required to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to physically interact with client and others in emergency situations to prevent harm to client and others.
  • The individual in this position must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Due to the extensive computer work this individual must be able to sit for extended periods of time and operate required equipment.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master’s degree in Nursing and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • One year of experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with a chronic mental illness is required.
  • The employee must possess exceptional oral and written communications skills.
  • Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • The employee must be able to conduct business in a professional manner.
  • Must exhibit cultural sensitivity.
  • Bilingual abilities (especially, Spanish and English) are not required, but a great advantage for this position.
  • Favorable references and/or evaluations.
