Description
We are looking for a AV & LED Installation Technician to handle permanent installations of LED video walls, displays, and AV systems in commercial spaces. This position is hands-on, with responsibilities in installation, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has experience in low-voltage/electrical work and can ensure that systems are installed safely, professionally, and in compliance with all building and electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and mount LED walls, flat panels, projectors, and other commercial AV hardware.
- Run conduit and structured cabling (Cat6, fiber, audio, video, and control).
- Terminate, label, and test cables to industry standards.
- Troubleshoot AV/LED systems during and after installation.
- Configure and integrate AV systems (processors, switchers, control systems).
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and local regulations.
- Document installation details and provide handover to clients.
- Respond to service calls and perform ongoing maintenance for installed systems.
Requirements
- Must have experience in commercial AV installation, electrical, or low-voltage work
- Solid understanding of structured cabling and signal flow.
- Hands on troubleshooting skills for AV and LED systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- State-recognized Low Voltage or Electrical License (or ability to work under a licensed contractor).
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- Industry certifications (AVIXA CTS, Crestron, Extron, or similar) are a plus.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights.
